The Center for Linguistic & Multicultural Studies (CELYM) was founded in 1980
Universidad Internacional, founded in 1980, started as a small linguistic center known as The Center for Linguistic & Multicultural Studies. Its mission was, and continues to be, the teaching of Spanish as a second language to foreign students at a university level while at the same time immersing them into the Mexican culture. In 1997, The Center for Linguistic & Multicultural Studies evolved into what has now become Universidad Internacional, which in addition to teaching Spanish to foreign students, opened its doors to Mexican undergraduate and graduate students.
The evolution of The Center for Linguistic & Multicultural Studies into Universidad Internacional has presented new opportunities in the form of new exchange programs and the offering of bi-national degrees with other universities, among other benefits. Furthermore, we have offered Spanish language training to diplomats from embassies including but not limited to the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and Germany. We have also hosted students from many of the most important companies in the world. As a result of our many years of experience, our university has been deemed the best Spanish school for executives worldwide.
